This is a small circuit, that converts SeaTalk signal levels to RS232 signal levels. It allows you to connect SeaTalk Instruments to PC or Notebook.

This converter - or let's better say levelshifter - does not do any software conversion between the PC and the SeaTalk devices.
You need to have a software on your pc, that "speaks" SeaTalk.
The circuit it quite easy.
The Idea and circuit diagram is from the very good SeaTalk pages of Thomas Knauf.

I just added another resistor to protect the transistor. Thomas Kanuf also has two small programms on his pages.
One for reading SeaTalk and one to writing SeaTalk sentences.
I had made a few printed circuit boards for this little gadget.

All PCB's are gone. I won't make any new PCB's for this. PCB's are
just too expensive for such an easy device.
It's just 6 resitors and
two transistors.
This few parts can easily be mounted on a Stripboard .
The PCB would cost something arround 6 Euro.
You'l find attached the circuit diagramms, the Eagle files for the PCB and PCB pictures.
