I got a Marcucci GPS SA320 to connect it at my Seatalk-nmea bridge already connected to my boat seatalk network and to my pc.
The technical specifications are:
Pin Cable Wires Definition (RS-232) Wire Color Designation
Red VCC Power Supply ( VDC 9V-34V)
Green RS-232 Transmit Tx, Output Signal (NMEA + )
White RS-232 Receiver Rx, Input Signal ( NC)
Black Power Ground
Gray SGND Signal Ground ( NMEA-)
This gps is similar (I think identical with only different brand) to Raystar 125 GPS, BU-353 WAAS GPS, VDO Smart GPS Sensor, GEONAV SA103, JRC GPS 112, JRC 212, Navman GPS GPS 1240/1330, Lowrance LGC-3000, LGC-2000, LGC-12W,EGC-12W, LGC-Baja.
The GPS specifications says NMEA 0183 V2.2 compliant, but when I connect it to the Nmea Bridge input port (following the wiring instruction provided with the GPS) nothing happen. The same GPS works with a VHF (for DSC) and with another Rayrmarine instrument.
I tried to connect it directly to the pc’s rs232 port but only the hieroglyphic appear to the hyperterminal screen. I’ll try to connect using the Scott from S/V Jane'O suggestions even if I have some perplexty ti connect the power wire from gps to Nemea - or rs232 pin 5.
Anyway can you help me to solve this issue?

all right. Up to now, I don't fully understand your wiring and configuration.
The Bridge is connected to SeaTalk and to you PC.
So you can allready see SeaTalk Data on your PC ?
- Is this correct ?
I asume, the bridge is connected to the PC using RS232 connectors ?
RxD,TxD,GND ? Right ?
Or are you using on TxD and GND ?

Well - I'm afraid i don't know the wiring instructions
provided with the GPS.
Again - I asume it's connected to NMEA-IN+ and NMEA-IN-
Is the jumper on the Bridge set to RS232 or to NMEA ?
The problem is - the Bridge is just a SeaTalk Nmea Bridge.
It is not a NMEA multiplexer.
It is not possible to have NMEA input form PC and NMEA-IN at the same time. With the jumper on the board, you have to choose between NMEA Input from RS232 ( PC ) or NMEA-IN.
How could it work ?
- set the jumper is set to NMEA
- connect the PC Txd ( Txd Bridge to RxD on PC (Pin 2) )
- connect the PC Gmd ( Gnd Bridge to GND on PC ( Pin 5 ) )
- connect NMEA-OUT + of GPS to NMEA-IN - on Bridge
- connect NMEA-OUT - of GPS to NMEA-IN + on Bridge
Now your PC should receive data from GPS and from the SeaTalk devices. But - it can not send data to the GPS or SeaTalk devices.
... just an idea.
Let's try to make some sort of wiriring diagram, so that I better understand the system.

You understood very well my configuration (even if without instructions and a drawing).
Now when I connect my GPS to the bridge using NMEA input port using your indications everything working fine. My error was to connect the nmea+ from gps to nmea+ on the bridge.
Now to continue to have my pc fully connected to the bridge (and not only in Rx), I connected the same gps directly to the seatalk network using the Nmea input port present on ST4000+. In this situation I have the SOG on seatalk but the bridge don’t show the positions. On my pc I haven’t RMC/GLL sentences (using hyperterminal).
Could be a configuration issue?
If I understand well the bridge send every message from seatalk to nmea/rs232 port and viceversa. Or not?
Furthermore could be a good idea to have a new version of the bridge with multiplexing function.
So - the bridge does not receive any postion data - and obvioulsy can't create and send an RMC/GLL senbtence.

I'm just working on it Will be available soon.
First test examples are allready running in my lab.
The currently available bridge is ment to be a translator between SeaTalk and Nmea. Unfortunately not a multiplexer.
probably the st4000+ send only the “52” (sog) seatalk sentence and not the “50&51” (lat and lon) because I can see the sog both on seatalk network and on the bridge.
Probabily is another “issue” of seatalk together at the display of the absolute wind direction (not relative at the boat heading).
In your opinion is possible to “manage” the seatalk software to solve these issues?
Anyway I will wait for your multiplexer. More or less when will be available?
Another question. Do you know some nmea display like these installed to the must foot on the regatta boat but less expensive?
