Hi there!

I have an Autohelm ST50 system (speed, compass, data, close haule, wind, depth) and a Navcentre 600 with GPS antenna.

On the Navcentre, the wind is displayed correctly, but the Bridge seems to translate the wind direction not correct. A difference of about 20 degrees. At least, that's what I could find sofar.

Have you experienced this before?

Looking forward to your reply.

Kind regards, Peer

I only have older equipment, but could it be that you are looking for the true wind? AFAIK the bridge displays the relative wind which comes from the sensors. True wind is then calculated from that but I think this is not put back onto the Seatalk bus?

mleonhardt is correct.
The Bridge receives relative wind from the sensor and translates it into relative wind onto NMEA.

As fars as I know, the navcanter can display TRUE and APPARENT Wind.
Question : Is there also a difference of about 20 degrees between TRUE/APPARENT on the navcenter ?

Frank
