Hello,
My GPS is quite old (MLR valsat 02), it does not sent the RMC sentence, but GLL and VTG instead.
The SEATALK NMEA bridge does make the position appear, but not the SOG and COG data. Is there any way to make the SOG and COG appear on the SEATALK bridge ?

Best regard

Hello,

i have removed processing of VTG from the program in order to save memory. There was - up to now - no need for processing VTG.

I just enabled processing VTG again, and checked if it still fits into memory.
Result - I does ! Now I need to check it and see if it works propperly, than I can send you a new software in the next day's.

Please tell me what bridge you have.
I assume you have a bridge version 3.5 with display - right ?

Regards
Frank

Hi Polo,

... btw. if you should happen to have a log of your NMEA Data with GLL and VTG -
maybe you could send it to me, so that I can test the new Software with
your data. Just to make sure it will work with your equipment.

Regards
Frank

Hi,

I made a new Software and put it into our Download section.
This Software reads VTG Sentence from NMEA for Speed over Ground/ Course over Ground

You can also find it HERE

Hello Frank,

I just purchased a new VHF DSC which accepts only RMC and not GLL to display the position, but my GPS sends only GLL.
Is there a way to do the conversion with the bridge to convert the GLL in RMC?
Thanks for your feedback,

Best regards

Hi again,

well - we need to find out how to get time and date from the data your GPS is sending. Than we could build a RMC Sentence from this + GLL Data.

Unfortunately I can not see where to get time and date from the data in your logfile above.

Any Ideas ?

Regards,
Frank
